Before Pickup
A few practical steps can help make inspection, loading and delivery easier for you and the assigned motor carrier.
Remove heavy exterior dirt and take clear photos from multiple angles before pickup so the existing condition is easier to document.
Remove valuables, important documents and irreplaceable belongings. Confirm any permitted personal-item allowance before pickup.
Keep only a limited amount of fuel in the vehicle, typically around one quarter of a tank, unless the carrier provides different instructions.
Check for visible leaks and disclose known mechanical or fluid issues before the pickup appointment.
Remove detachable racks, antennas, covers and other loose exterior accessories when practical.
Disable the vehicle alarm and remove or deactivate toll tags to prevent unexpected alerts or charges during transportation.
Have a working vehicle key ready to provide to the assigned motor carrier at pickup.
Tell us whether the vehicle starts, steers, rolls and brakes normally so the appropriate loading arrangements can be coordinated.

You and the assigned carrier inspect the vehicle and document its existing condition on the pickup paperwork or Bill of Lading. Review the record before the vehicle is loaded.
Status information may be shared by the brokerage or assigned motor carrier as the vehicle moves through the route. Contact the provided shipment representative when you need an updated estimated delivery window.
